- Dr. Ebtesam Almazrouei is the Director of the Al-Cross Center Unit at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). Her research focuses on perception and fusion, extreme-AI scale, computational platforms, foundational models, edge AI and connected intelligence, data-driven technologies, deep learning and intelligent networks, B5G and 6G, general intelligence, sustainable AI, AI at scale, green AI, AI for good, sustainable and smart cities, and AI applications and benefits. Dr. Almazrouei leads the big data working group in the expert subcommittee of the UAE Council for AI and Blockchain. Dr. Almazrouei is selected to be a member of the worldwide steering board of the Wireless World Research Forum (WWRF). Dr. Almazrouei has engaged in many professional activities, including being the general chair of Abu Dhabi AI Connect and TPC chair of many IEEE international conferences. Dr. Ebtesam Almazrouei led the scientific team behind building Noor, the world’s largest Arabic natural language processing (NLP) model to date. She is the first Emirati woman to hold a Ph.D. in artificial intelligence for wireless communication engineering and computer science. She is a scientific author, patent inventor, entrepreneur, and public speaker. She is a keynote speaker in worldwide prestigious summits such as the AI Summit in London, AI Everything Summit, Global GITEX, IEEE conferences, AI for Good, and Tech summits, among others. Dr. Ebtesam Almazrouei obtained her Ph.D. and MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Khalifa University of Science and Technology and earned a BSc in Communication and Electrical Engineering from the United Arab Emirates University.
