- Gendarmerie Nationale is a French national police force. It is a branch of the French Armed Forces places under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of the Interior. To achieve its mission of "maintenance of law and order", Gendarmerie is constantly at the forefront of technological innovation. AI is an important research area in which companies, scientists and lawyers develop confidence-building technologies to protect population. In line with the strategic vision "Gend 2024", AI is both a challenge and an opportunity to increase the level of people protection subject to ethic guidelines to promote and protect the human rights and fundamental freedoms of each and every person, at any time and anywhere.
