Rafael Fassio is a member of the Office of the Attorney General in Brazil and currently acts as the lead counsel for Science, Technology and Innovation at the São Paulo State Government, where he acquired comprehensive experience in public procurement by providing legal advice to the government and its executive branch agencies. As a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), he has recently published a Public Procurement of Innovation Toolkit for Brazil and LATAM Countries. Rafael was a visiting student at Università degli Studi di Roma II (Italy), and holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws both from the University of São Paulo. Currently he is a PhD candidate at the same institution. Rafael was also a fellow of the artificial intelligence and machine learning platform at the World Economic Forum, and has recently co-authored a AI Procurement Guide and a WEF white paper aiming to streamline procurement of AI solutions worldwide.
